It Starts at Home: How Families Help Students Finish What They Start

  • 2200 Hunt Street Detroit, MI, 48207 United States (map)

This session will show how intentional family engagement, communication and support can strengthen motivation and persistence for students on their path to graduation.

Drawing from nearly a decade of experience working with Detroit/Wayne County families, I’ll demonstrate how setting family goals, establishing structure, and creating consistent routine check-ins can help learners stay focused and accountable.

Participants will take part in guided discussion and short activities that model how to build stronger home-school partnerships and a culture of encouragement within families. By the end, attendees will walk away with simple, actionable strategies and a family engagement toolkit they can use to help students start strong and finish strong.
